    After many years as a professional musician in touring and studio outfits, Ray decided to go solo, in a specialized niche-THE BABY BOOMER MARKET

    and soon discovered that it was an underserviced but hungry market.

    At the tender age of only 14, his son William decided to learn to play guitar, and in a short time was being hailed by other professionals as the next Wonder Guitarist on the rise and is featured on most of our albums with his blistering blues styles that bring standing ovations at live gigs.

    Frequently asked questions

    HOW MUCH DO YOU CHARGE?

    Musician union rates quote $150 per hour for a minimum of 2 hours. $300 minimum fee
    Minimum fee for WANDERING MINSTREL show is $150, and that gets you 60 performance minutes, with reasonable encores .
    Travel over 50 Kms: from base in Toowoomba-First 50 Km- no charge- After that- $3.00 per Km- both ways.

     

    WEDDINGS:
    Minimum $800

    HOWEVER

    Everything is negotiable depending on a number of factors such as

    Location

    Times

    Frequency of bookings

    and more.

    WHAT STYLE OF SONGS DO YOU PLAY?

    That depends on the audience, but with a play list of 400 + songs, it's safe to say that most tastes are catered for.
    From Tony Bennett at one end of the spectrum, to AC/DC at the other end, there is something for every taste.

    Rock, soft rock, country, country rock, blues, jazz and more.

    We like to tailor our performance to what the audience seems to be enjoying, and we constantly adjust our play list to accommodate that.

    HOW FAR WILL YOU TRAVEL?

    As far as it takes.
    We live in Toowoomba in South East Queensland, and usually work in that area, but we're am happy to travel to the Sunshine Coast, Gold Coast, Brisbane, and west to Chinchilla, and south to Northern NSW..
    Apart from that, let's chat about your area and how we can work to mutual benefit.
    We've done tours in other countries too, but that takes a special deal.

    HOW MUCH SPACE DOES YOUR GEAR TAKE UP?

    3m x 3 m is usually plenty. Our act is a DUO, so while it sounds like a full band, it only takes up enough space for a 2 man show. I sometimes also do a ROVING MINSTREL show that utilizes only a very special "AEROBAND GUITAR" that requires no amplification equipment, and is a much more "intimate" experience as I stroll from table to table. In this case, I take up even less space, but the entire act CAN be wirelessly linked back to a PA if needed. You can check out how this works in the above video named "WANDERING MINSTREL". It's perfect for Aged Care concerts. 

    CAN YOU ALSO PROVIDE DJ STYLE MUSIC BETWEEN LIVE SETS?

    ABSOLUTELY- and this is a regular part of our "show" and costs no extra.

    Most events you can imagine- In fact I have even played at funeral wakes with great success. Whatever you want covered, we can handle it.

    HOW DO YOU GET A FULL BAND SOUND AS A SOLO?

    The short answer is backing tracks.
    Over the years we have made connections with professional musicians from all over the globe, and the power of the internet gives us the chance to compose our own backings, in keys that suit us, with collaboration from our musician friends, some of whom are famous musicians in their own right in their own countries.
    This means our backings are tailored to our own tastes and needs. You won't hear any other musicians using the same backing styles because our tracks are unique. We have a motto- COVERS-not COPIES. This means we take well known songs and give them a "twist" that no other musician is able to achieve.
    Advantages are that these backings never make a mistake, they are super reliable, and of course, they help make our fee budget friendly.
